Why Theatre? Why Lighting Design?
-a note from Andy-
A Scenic Designer can step into the world they've created, sit on a couch, or feel a curtain. A Costume Designer can feel the fabric of their design, lace a shoe or pull up a zipper.
Light is intangible. As an artist I am interested in how I can create something so beautiful, so emotionally
evocative with something that you cannot touch. That is why lighting design fascinates me. I try to touch the intangible with every step I take in my design journey.
Telling a story is one of the most important things we do as artists. The collaborative form of theatre allows me to explore how important story telling is to humanity.

Andy graduated with a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology from Syracuse University in 2017. If he's not in the theatre, he's usually hiking, watching baseball (let's go Mets!) or playing Animal Crossing.
